China jails porn xxx site owner for life

A Chinese court has sentenced the owner of a porn ( hardcore ) Web site to life in prison and sentenced eight others to terms ranging from 13 months to 10 years, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

Chen Hui and the other defendants started the "Qingseliuyuetian (Pornographic Summer) Web site in 2004, and opened a further three porn hardcore and softcore Web sites, attracting more than 600,000 users," according to the state media report, which was picked up by the Associated Press.

Thia is not the first time that a Porn site owner has been in trouble. In February 27, 2004 a US pornsite owner was sentenced over a scam .

A operator who used misspellings of popular names such as "teltubbies" to direct minors to sex-oriented internet sites has been jailed for 30 months, US prosecutors said.

Justice Department officials said today that John Zuccarini, 53, was arrested last September in his Hollywood.He was accused of deceptively registering sites to capture internet users who misspelled names - for example http://www.dinseyland.com instead of http://www.disneyland.com - in the scheme that officials said earned him as much as $US1 million ($A1.3 million)a year.

It was the first prosecution sought under the Truth in Domain Names Act that became law last year, authorities said.
