After demolishing the reputation of security at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit, the ABC's The Chaser's War on Everything did much the same to opposition networks with an extraordinary 2.24 million viewers on Wednesday night.
The new video of the Chaser APEC stunt, posted on their Myspace page, shows their fake Canadian motorcade being waved through police checkpoints on the edges of the APEC 2007 security zone in central Sydney.

It was ABC TV's third highest-rating program since 1991, after SeaChange and the Paralympics Opening Ceremony in 2000.
"I am a great fan," the ABC boss, Mark Scott, said. "I think they work incredibly hard and I am delighted for them for the success … "
Questioned about the ethics of the show, Mr Scott said the stunts in general were authorised by ABC management and legal advisers before scenes were filmed and broadcast.
The bungle that allowed the comedians close to the APEC red zone was made possible because security was lowered after the Prime Minister, John Howard, was delayed the day before by a locked gate and had to wait for a duplicate key to be found, the Seven Network reported. Osama Promo

The Chaser's executive producer, Julian Morrow, one of the team charged over the stunt, said: "Ratings have never been a factor in deciding what risks we take on The Chaser, until last night." Emo Washing Powder

The program's APEC footage obscured the faces of police officers who waved through its bogus motorcade, but Morrow denied that was for legal reasons.
"We did that because we didn't want to ridicule them individually," he said.

The ABC's new comedy Summer Heights High was seen by 1.37 million. The channel's only let-down on Wednesday night was an audience of 800,000 for The 7.30 Report, during which John Howard announced his retirement plans.

A couple lived near the ocean and used to walk the beach a lot.
One summer they noticed a girl who was at the beach pretty much every day.
She would approach people who were sitting on the beach, glance around furtively, then speak to them. Generally the people would respond negatively and she would wander off, but occasionally someone would nod and there would be a quick exchange of money and something she carried in her bag.
The couple assumed she was selling drugs, and debated calling the cops, but since they didn't know for sure they just continued to watch her.
After a couple of weeks the wife said, "Honey, have you ever noticed that she only goes up to people with electronic devices?" He hadn't.
Then she said, "Tomorrow I want you to get a towel and our big radio and go lie out on the beach. Then we can find out what she's really doing."
Well, the plan went off without a hitch and the wife was almost hopping up and down with anticipation when she saw the girl talk to her husband and then leave. The man walked up the beach and met his wife at the road.
Well, is she selling drugs?" she asked excitedly.
"No, she's not," he said.
"Well, what is it, then? What does she do?" his wife fairly shrieked.
The man grinned and said, "Her name is Sally, and she's a battery salesperson."
"Batteries?" cried the wife.
"Yes," he replied.
