It's Christmas Eve and New York City cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) is flying into Los Angeles. He's a nervous flyer, and as the plane lands the passenger sitting next to him suggests a tip: after the flight, he should take off his shoes and socks and make fists with his toes on the rug. A limousine has been sent to take John from the airport to the high rise offices of his wife, Holly (Bonnie Bedelia), who he is separated from. The chauffeur, Argyle (De'voreaux White), offers to wait in the building's car park while John decides whether he will be spending Christmas with his family or not, but as John gets ready to join the office party, there's a disturbance outside... some uninvited guests with guns...It's safe to say that Die Hard was a crucial development in the action movie genre. Written by Jeb Stuart and Steven de Souza from Roderick Thorp's novel, it led to many lesser imitators (including its own sequels), which would be Die Hard on a ship, Die Hard on a plane, Die Hard in a stadium, Die Hard on a train, and so on. Despite looking well-worn now in terms of its plot, the original still stands up as reliable entertainment through its set pieces and excellent characters, ideal for watching again and again. It also turned Bruce Willis from a television star into a movie star, so how you feel about that depends on how you feel about Bruce Willis.But even if you don't like Bruce, it would be hard to admit that he isn't perfect in his role. McClane is brought into a cat and mouse game with the gatecrashers, a bunch of German terrorists led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) who have decided to turn their talents to robbery on a grand scale. Around McClane is this feeling of a working class American absently maligned by a new society of slick big business that takes him for granted. Holly's bosses are Japanese, and the thieves are German who act like high flying executives making a lethal takeover bid, and the poor old Americans are caught in their way. McClane never asks outright, "Who won the Second World War, anyway?", but that's the attitude the film subtly projects.American businesswomen are like Holly, now independent and dismissive of their men, and the American businessmen are represented by Ellis (Hart Bochner), an obsequious, coke-snorting asshole who tries to cut a deal with the baddies. So, it's up to the blue collar, dependable types like McClane and the patrolman who helps him (Reginald VelJohnson) to deliver America from evil. It's a conservative outlook, and for the film it works like a dream: McClane is underestimated by everybody, even us (see the scene where he finally meets Gruber), but he is more than capable of single-handedly conducting his own campaign against the odds, making him a classic hero.It wouldn't be an action movie without action, and there's plenty on offer here. Of course the baddies are despatched one by one by McClane, but not without painful cost to himself, as he almost masochistically suffers injury to foil the villains, being beaten up, having his bare feet cut by glass and being shot (the obligatory bullet in the shoulder in the last act). As the authorities display hard-headed ignorance or, in the case of the FBI, callousness, and the media endanger lives, it's left to McClane to work out Gruber's plan, set off explosives, and save the hostages. Add a strong line in humour, quotable dialogue ("No fucking shit, lady, do I sound like I'm ordering a pizza?!"), a hissable adversary (great work by Rickman) and intelligent plotting and the result is deserved, enduring success. AS u all know  we bloggers write bogs  so that people should read our blogs .infact  we want more and more people to read our blogs  so we get inspired to  write more content in our blog . Unfortunately  not all blog s get a lott os visitors. Why ? poor content ,  no one knows about your blog , not listed on searches .

There is a  no effort way to get your blog listed in various search engines  so that more people find your blog ... in technical terms its called pinging servers ( which means  u let  all serch engines know tht u have printed  a new article onyour blog  and so it gets listed on thier serch engine sbringing in more people as they search )

Here below are some ping lists which u can compare with your current ping list if u have any  or then just integrate it  into yourfavorite blogging programs like   wordpress  ping list  or  if u use windows live writer u can add it in there  too( which works for blogger or blogspot ) , live journal

 

I have nothing against free blog hosting services like Blogger, Live Journal, or TypePad. but the best way to get more traffic is to get your own hosted blog

Although it hasn't seen a major update in well over a year, the Netscape browser is about to get a makeover, according to a teaser posted to the Netscape blog. Version 9.0 of the software, which AOL reincarnated in 2005, is due in the coming months.
A number of things are already known about Netscape 9. Most notably, the browser will have deep integration with the new Netscape.com user-driven news site that debuted last year and mirrored the functionality of Digg.
Also, developers say it will remain a standalone product built atop Mozilla's Firefox code base; it will not contain a mail client or Web page editor. Instead, the browser will integrate a number of different Firefox extensions that relate to Netscape.com, including a Friends' Activity Sidebar and Sitemail Notifier.
The new browser will now be cross-platform, compatible with Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Smaller features are getting focused on for 9.0, such as a redesign of Netscape's FTP view.

Since Netscape 9 will share an architecture with Firefox 2, it is very likely that most Firefox 2 extensions will work in Netscape 9 without modification. This is why Netscape 9 will allow you to install extensions that list Firefox 2 as a compatible version but do not explicitly list Netscape as well. This feature will give all users of Netscape 9 immediate access to Firefox's wealth of custom extensions without having to wait for each author to update the extension's compatibility file.

When it was first reborn, the Netscape Browser was intended to be a friendlier version of Firefox, adding more privacy features and phishing protections, as well as the option to render pages using Internet Explorer's Trident engine for compatibility. The software included a "Trust Rating" system that warned users of potentially dangerousWeb sites.

Before I start this midnight post, Happy valentines day in advance I hope you have a good one.

I may have mentioned RapidShare a couple of times before but if you don't know already, they're a file host that lets you upload files (limited to 100megs per file) and people can download them. If you don't have a premium account you're limited to how much you can download etc. If you are a premium member, you can download a lot more and get it a lot faster... It maxed out my 10meg cable internet, when I still had that *sobs*.

 

 

Anyhoo. I went to their homepage today, and look what I found...

In the future, RapidShare.de's direction will point even more to conventional webhosting.

It looks like they're planning a move into the webhosting market. I can't comment on their plans or prices because they haven't published them but I can speculate that they'll have the means to offer some pretty decent bandwidth on accounts, considering that they must buy in such huge volumes already.

It looks like they're going the opposite way as Dreamhost. I use Dreamhost and Godaddy for all my images and other external resource files for here on ThePCSpy, along with a few other sites of mine. They've got amazing bandwidth and more servers than you could shake a very large stick at, keeping individual server-load and customer stress-levels down.

Anyway, DH have started to do something called FilesForever, a scheme where you pay to upload your file once and that's it. It's hosted forever. They're also doing a media service along the same lines apart from it's free (I think) and you get to use their little Flash-player.

If things carry on like this, Dreamhost could be competing on all fronts with RapidShare and i dont think rapidshare will have th top spot for long with the limitations that they have started putting on free users.

Well, so much for closing piracy loopholes! With Windows Vista and Office 2007 only just going Gold, and not even available to Microsoft beta testers, developers or volume licence subscribers, the first cracked versions have already hit the pirate boards.It does not take Long for serials , keys and Cracks for most popular softwareto be out when they are released But Getting windows Vista Cracks before its release is funny.

The Windows Vista Download version which has been released is called Vista BillGates. It doesn’t feature any activation cracks itself, and the supplied product key is just for the installation.

The activation crack is a separate download, and works by replacing the licensing components with components from beta builds. Then using a product key from Beta 1, Beta 2, RC1 or RC2, the Gold version of Vista can be activated online.
In this sense, it’s not a true crack – it’s simply leveraging off compatibilities between the betas and the Gold release. Vista Windows still needs to be activated, and it looks like for the moment, there’s no way around that.
Also, my guess is that this particular loophole won’t be open for very long. Microsoft has a list of every product key it issued during the beta testing, so it’s not going to be difficult to blanket block them once the testing period officially ends.

However, it’s still staggering as to just how quickly this was released. Of course, a massive target like Microsft vista windows was always going to be instantly subjected to pirate attacks, but to be distributing copies so soon is impressive, to say the least.
On a more sour note for Microsoft, a full version of Office 2007 Enterprise was released on the boards a few hours after Vista BillGates. Unlike Vista, Office 2007 uses Volume Activation 1.0 (no activation required), so it’s unclear how Microsoft is going to be able to counter its dissemination in future.

So is it a case of Pirates 1, Microsoft 0? I don’t think so – not yet, anyway. You can tell a lot about the strength of a product by the nature of the methods used to circumvent its copy protection. Some apps simply need the right product key, others need a key plus a cracked executable.
With Vista , Microsoft have demonstrated (or at least appear to – it’s rather early to tell) that they are way beyond low-end piracy. Rather like NS5s in I, Robot, the product is now so strongly tied to its parent that breaking that relationship seems ever-more improbable, given the parent’s ability to keep tabs on each and every installation of Windows out there is more like being in the microsoft Vista RTM cracked by pirates before release its more like being in the Beuna vista social club.
